Before filming our OTS we had to take into consideration all the possible risks and ensure that we would be aware and prepared for any hazards. In order to make sure we are prepared and to show evidence of our preparation, we have created a risk assessment.
When filming its likely that we will be presented with various hazards and risks which must be avoided, for example;
Trips and Slips -
Due to our chosen location being an old abandoned prison, its likely that there pay be hazards surrounding the area such as trips and slips. In one of our scenes we have also chosen to incorporate a mix of fake blood and water which will be used inside the porcelain teapot, when poured there is a chance it could splash or spill out onto the floor, causing a slip hazard. In order to avoid this we have made sure that all members of the crew are fully aware of the possible issue and that they must be cautious when stepping around all sections of the location and that communication will be needed if a possible hazard is spotted.

Smashed Porcelain-
As part of our OTS we will be using a porcelain tea set, which in one scene gets thrown at the wall and will evidently smash, The risk here is that its possible that a member of the crew or actors may get cut. In addition to this, the main character in our OTS is only wearing socks due to decisions when looking at costume and as a result of this the risk is then increased. However in attempt to reduce the chance of this happening, we have made it clear to all members of the crew that they must be cautious when stepping around the area. We will also ensure we have a dust pan and brush at hand so the mess can be cleared and the risk lessened. However in a worst case scenario we have made sure we have a first aid member of staff with us, and a first aid kit.

Hot Lighting Units-
We will be needing to use lighting units in order to make the scenes visible to the camera, because our chosen location is shadowed and lacks natural lighting. However it is possible that when left on for a long period of time, the units will heat up and therefore a risk of burning is apparent if someone were to touch it. In order to avoid this happening we must make sure that after a period of time the lighting units are switched off when not in use, in addition to this we will make the hazard clear to all members of the crew.
