We created a second version of our short film with the intention of highlighting each of the shots we had incorporated, making it clearer for us to see that we had used and added descriptions for what each shot represents.

When working through the planning stage of our 10 horror shots, we chose to use a basic scenario in order to make capturing the shots the priority. We decided to focus on a situation including both a victim and a killer shown through the various shots. In the beginning of the clip we chose to use an off kilter shot in order to allow the audience to realise that there is something wrong, and gives the instant impression that something bad is disturbing the victims safety and wellbeing. A high angle was then used looking down on the victim with the intention of again convincing the watcher that the victim is the venerable character in the situation. As the killer begins to be introduced, we used an over the shoulder shot from behind the killer to keep her identity hidden at this point creating tension and fear; furthermore the shot allows the audience to see the victim from the killer’s perspective again, highlighting the danger and building to a climax. In order to show the victims isolation and solidarity as the clip progresses we chose to incorporate a 360 degree shot, as this allows the focus to be on the victim, before it pans out and the killer can be seen in the background reminding the audience the situation is beginning to become more tense. We decided to use the power of suggestion paired with a close up shot on the weapon held by the killer, to foreshadow the likely events ahead. We then included an extreme close up on the victims bruised eye as the clip progresses so that it was evident there was a strong sense of fear and to create further tension. Both a high and low angle was used when shooting the reverse shot as we wanted to capture the events from the perspective of both characters, from the victims point of view a high angle was used to show the victims venerability as she is desperately crawling away from the killer. From the killers perspective, we thought a high angle was appropriate as it represents that she's the more dominant and powerful character, the use of both these shots and the reverse shot were captured with the intention of enhancing the tension of the chase. For the final scene showing the victims death, we cleverly positioned the camera low so that we were able to create the illusion that the victim was being hurt, without the actress feeling and pain. The fact that the scene ends with a final grasp of air from the victim and a loud bang again uses the power of suggestion, leaving it up to the audience whether the victim was dead or not.
