what we learnt about the technology used from the process of constructing this product
when creating our OTS it was very important to have used a range of technology, which includes both hardware and software. We made a screencast to show all the software used. For example we used software such as Final Cut when editing our OTS and we converted non-copyrighted sound effects and music by using Convert3mp3. This helped to create a better horror atmosphere and make it more effective to captivate the audience.
camera and tripod
We used a Sony A58 camera when filming which meant that we had a good quality image throughout our OTS, this will help make our opening title sequence as professional as possible. There are many different setting on the camera to make sure that the footage was as clear as it could be meaning that the footage was clear in all lighting and distances. This camera was also very quick and easy to set up as we were able to easily put it into place on a tripod so that our footage was not shaking.
weebly
When creating the website we used Weebly, which helped to display our research and coursework. This website building software allowed us to organise all of the work easily and we were able to to produce a smart layout for people who visited our coursework and we were able to easily add the content needed such as photos, prezis and youtube, it also made it look more professional. we were also able to design our website around the theme of horror which helps create a better effect, this software also allows people to navigate the website very easily which means that it is easy to see our process of ideas.
imac - final cut
we used an imac with final cut installed when editing as this helped us to produce the best quality content as it is able to efficiently run the programme. The macs were easy to use and any problems had with them could be easily found out using the help center.
youtube
Youtube was an important part when making our OTS, we were able to get mp3's of sound effects and music to add to our footage, improving the quality. Youtube was also useful when finding ideas for what our horror could be like as we were easily able to find other examples of horror. We were also able to use youtube when posting all of our videos as it allowed us to have all our clips on the same platform for people to view and give feedback, youtube was also easy to add into Weebly meaning all our final work is on one platform.
