why we chose supernatural as our sub genre.
After much deliberation, due to the range of potential sub genres to choose from, we (as a group) agreed on doing supernatural. This specific genre is very broad therefore it can contain anything creepy that isn't found in reality. Overall, the plot can be pretty straight forward but contain a moderate to high level of violence and torture; as research reveals that our target audience (16 year olds and over) enjoy gorey scenes. Furthermore if the OTS contains disturbing violence it will appeal to our selected audience. Additionally, The Conjuring was rated one of the most popular films in 2013 as it appealed greatly to their selected audience.
